Primary Adenocarcinoma of the Appendix with Metastasis to Both Ovaries

Abstract

|
|
Primary adenocarcinomas of the appendix are very rare neoplasms in the references. The first instance of a primary adenocarcinoma of the appendix was reported by Berger in 1882. Since that report, about 200 additional cases have appeared in the world literature and in the domestic area.
Recently, we experienced a case of adenocarcinoma arising from the appendix with
metastasis to both ovaries in a 31 years old female, who complained abdominal pain, abdominal adistension, and palpable masses. A brief review of literature pertinent to this case was done.
